BODYWEIGHT EXERCISES AND SMALL WEIGHTS (muscle conditioning)

BASIC PHYSIOLOGY OF MUSCLE CONDITIONING

Muscle conditioning regards the ability to train your muscles to a  degree of contraction that is different to the normal degree, resulting in improved neuromuscular response (tone), improved resistance (endurance) and better nutritional status (tropism).

BODYWEIGHT TRAINING: PART 1

In this section you can find muscle conditioning, bodyweight exercises. There are also suggestions about how to carry them out correctly and a list, with images, of the most common errors you should avoid.

BODYWEIGHT TRAINING: PART 2

The major muscles groups needed for overall toning are considered here and there is a description of how to carry out toning exercises correctly.

You should add to your body weight or insert some form of resistance using small weights so as to increase the strain of the contraction. The most common way to carry out overload is to use weights and these can be found at fitness centres in the form of dumbbells or bar bells. For resistance, on the other hand, you can use exercise bands of various thickness.
