ANXIETY AND STRESS

ANXIETY DISORDERS

Anxiety is a natural emotion which, in itself, is useful for adaptation. It suffices to say though, that without anxiety and fear, mankind would not have survived the past and would not be able survive future dangers. Without resorting to extreme examples, anxiety can be thought of as an ally in times when we must face a test, an exam or a situation which requires a great deal of attention and concentration.

STRESS

In everyday speech it refers to tension, anxiety, worry and a general bad feeling associated with negative consequences for the body and our emotional and mental state, but what actually is stress and why does it appear?

STRESS, SPORT AND RELAXATION

Various strategies can be adopted to relieve our bodies of tensions caused by stress, such as taking up a physical activity, however, it is best to follow a series of precautions.

Panic attacks

PANIC ATTACKS

Panic attack disorder is a disorder that suddenly affects seemingly healthy people who are not necessarily in stressful situations. The psychical symptoms of panic attacks are represented by a sudden fear or terror and/or a sudden feeling of death or loss of control over one’s ideas and actions.

Activation and relaxation

ACTIVATION AND RELAXATION

Effort and recovery play a key role in everyone’s life. In fact, everyday experiences seem to confirm that life takes place between the poles of sleep and wakefulness, activity and passivity and tension and relaxation. The various dimensions of a person’s psycho-physical state, such as excitement-inhibition, pleasure-aversion and tension-relaxation, can be reduced to two fundamental conditions: activation and relaxation. Psycho-physiological aspects will be looked into in this article.
